Description

That’s the immediate feeling when you arrive here. The monastery was built in the 12th century by the Norman, John de Courcy on the Quoile River near Downpatrick in County Down.

The ruins are impressive and extensive and proved a perfect setting for some scenes in the recent Game of Thrones series.
