The bronze statue of  greets us outside the ever popular Titanic Belfast Visitor Centre. Reminiscent of a ships figurehead from a former age, this piece was created in 2012 by Dublin artist Roman Gillespie. The curved mermaid-like form is in sharp contrast to the angular design of the exterior of the exhibition centre. Not for me to say if the pose is reminiscent of  in the famous scene in the film
